What is a traineeship?

Apprenticeships and traineeships combine practical experience at work with structured on the job and off the job training. As an apprentice or trainee, one can enter into a formal training contract with an employer that leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
What is a School Based Traineeship?
A school based traineeship provides an opportunity for full time secondary school students to begin preparing themselves for a career in the workforce. It is a great opportunity for the students studying towards the WA Certificate of Education to get trained in an industry area and gain a nationally recognised vocational education and training qualification.
Australian Apprenticeship Centres (AAC's)
Australian Apprenticeships Centres are contracted by the Australian Government to provide one-stop shops for those seeking to hire Australian Apprentices or to take up an Australian Apprenticeship as a career path. A list of AACs in Western Australia is located below:
