Training Packages

Training Packages are sets of nationally endorsed competency standards and qualifications used to recognise and assess the skills and knowledge people need to perform effectively in the workplace. Training packages are designed to enable diverse and relevant vocational learning outcomes and to make sure that individuals trained under the system hold the skills and knowledge that employers need. They are also reviewed on a regular basis, to ensure that they keep pace with changes in industry, and continue to meet industry needs.
CSH&E Training Council provides feedback from the WA industries to the (National) Community Services & Health Industry Skills Council after consultations.
The benefits of Training Packages include:
- Training meets the needs and requirements of industry and standards set by industry.
- Qualifications are consistent and nationally recognised
- Range of flexible training options are provided
- Developed by industry and are regularly updated
Components of a Training Package

- national qualifications – formal certification recognising that a person has achieved learning outcomes or competencies that provide a meaningful outcome at an industry or enterprise level.
- assessment guidelines – the requirements for an individual's performance to meet the competency standards.
